SCONUL speaks for libraries and those who work in them, in our community and beyond, informed by the core ethics of our profession as captured in the CILIP Ethical Framework. 

We will make a public statement on a development when:

• it breaches the core principles and ethics of the library profession, and
• has damaging impact on library or information provision, and
• a statement is likely to have a meaningful and positive impact including for staff at member institutions.
